About the role
GDIT is seeking a Senior AI Software Developer to support an Intelligence customer in Springfield, VA. In this role, you will design, develop, evaluate, plan, and test AI features across multiple software programs and applications within an agile scrum team environment.
Responsibilities
- Integrate multiple data streams into customer systems.
- Complete Cloud platform migrations between existing and available platforms.
- Develop AI features for existing Ontology-based software applications.
- Create sustainable software applications with accurate estimation, efficient branching strategies, and maintained code repositories.
- Participate in agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, planning, sprint reviews, demos, retrospectives).
- Implement requirements from the product backlog and assist in writing backlog requirements/user stories.
- Utilize a modern DevSecOps approach to build software applications.
- Develop and modify applications, software, services, utilities, interfaces, and IT systems supporting analysts.
Requirements
- 8+ years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field (or 6 additional years of IT experience).
- Senior-level software development experience designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable, mission-focused applications.
- Strong programming experience with Python, Java, and Scala.
- Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs, Git-based workflows, automated testing (unit/integration/system), CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices.
- Hands-on experience with Docker/containerization, microservice architectures, Helm, and development container environments.
- Experience developing applications using Generative AI technologies (Retrieval-Augmented Generation, Large Language Models, LLM-enabled workflows).
- Experience designing, deploying, and supporting cloud-native applications using AWS, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
- Experience integrating, transforming, and managing data from multiple sources and network environments.
- Experience deploying applications into new or complex network environments.
- Experience applying DevSecOps practices (secure software development, code hardening, vulnerability remediation, automated security scanning).
- Ability to troubleshoot complex software systems and collaborate across development, infrastructure, security, and mission teams.
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with data normalization, transformation, and visualization techniques.
- Familiarity with graph-based data models, data relationships, and advanced data structures.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Experience developing and presenting technical metrics, status reports, and project updates.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior developers and contribute to team engineering practices.
Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $124,093 – $162,150, depending on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
