About the role

Join GDIT’s Development Team as a Senior Software Developer / Code Integrator / Build Release Engineer in partnership with New York State of Health (NYSoH). You’ll deliver solutions for the Health Benefit Exchange (HBE), providing comprehensive health coverage to over 7.2 million New Yorkers. The project uses a multi-tier architecture including Service Oriented Architecture, multi-tier web applications with Java, and various COTS products.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end Code Management Life Cycle process, including code integrations, merges, deployment requests, and managing code streams and branches.
• Communicate integration and deployment activities.
• Research, design, develop, and modify enterprise-wide systems and applications software.
• Plan system and development deployments, maintain software compliance standards, and manage the Deploy Process.
• Perform and provide guidance on all phases of the software development life cycle and software deployment.
• Create clear documentation, plan and prioritize work, and follow rigorous processes.
• Manage software code repositories, build implementations, automation solutions, Linux servers, and JBoss web applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6+ years in Information Technology.
• 5+ years in programming, testing, and software deployment.
• Experience with Maven Build, Linux system administration, and/or middleware administration with Application Servers such as JBoss and WebLogic.
• Experience with version control systems (GitHub, SVN, Perforce, BitBucket, IBM Rational Team Concert).
• Experience with Jenkins automation, Ansible, and Bash Scripting.
• Working knowledge of J2EE Application Development and related tools (Eclipse, WebLogic, JBoss).
• Solid understanding of Core Java concepts (Object-Oriented Programming, Java Collections API, Exception Handling, Multi-Threading, Spring).
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis, J2EE concepts, architecture, and technologies.
• Experience with web development using client-side MVC frameworks (HTML, JavaScript, Angular, Node.js).
• Solid experience working with Linux and JBoss.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to identify, resolve, and develop alternative solutions for problems.
• Demonstrated collaboration, teaching abilities, and critical thinking.

• Development engineering background with experience in software code repositories and build implementations.

Pay

Likely salary range: $102,000 – $138,000. Actual salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
