Software Engineer Senior
About the role
The Claims Microservices Senior Software Engineer is a key contributor to the Claims Platform engineering team and is responsible for designing, developing, modernizing, delivering, and supporting secure, scalable, cloud-ready APIs and microservices that enable enterprise claims capabilities. The role combines hands-on software engineering with technical leadership across the full product lifecycle, from discovery and architecture through deployment, observability, production support, and continuous improvement. This engineer works closely with product managers, business partners, architects, security, cloud platform teams, DevOps, quality engineering, data teams, and consuming application teams to deliver reusable claims services and reliable integrations. The position is expected to champion engineering standards, mentor other engineers, and help translate complex claims-processing needs into maintainable API solutions. Location: Oakland, CA. Duration: 6 months contract with possibility of extension and conversion.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of RESTful APIs and Spring Boot microservices for claims processing, claims detail, treatment history, coordination of benefits, batch processing, and related enterprise capabilities
