About the role
We are looking for a Software Developer to join a growing technology team in Wisconsin on a contract basis with the opportunity for a permanent position. In this role, you will create and improve business-critical applications, web-based tools, and connected system solutions that support day-to-day operations and long-term growth. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys translating business needs into reliable software, working across databases and integrations, and contributing to well-designed, scalable technology solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and support custom software applications that address operational and business needs across the organization.
- Build and refine web-based solutions using C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, JavaScript, and related development technologies.
- Design, manage, and optimize SQL Server database components, including queries, views, and stored procedures, to improve data performance and reliability.
- Create and maintain APIs and system interfaces that enable seamless communication between internal platforms and external services.
- Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements, define technical approaches, and deliver practical application solutions.
- Investigate and resolve issues affecting applications, integrations, and database functionality to maintain stable system performance.
- Contribute to application upgrades, modernization efforts, and new development initiatives that enhance existing technology capabilities.
- Participate in peer reviews, technical documentation, and development best practices to support maintainable and high-quality code.
- Ensure software solutions align with expectations for security, scalability, performance, and ongoing supportability.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience developing software with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, and related Microsoft development tools.
- Strong background working with SQL Server, including database design, stored procedures, query tuning, and performance improvement.
- Hands-on experience building and supporting APIs, system integrations, and integration testing processes.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting application and database issues with a methodical, solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners.
- Familiarity with JavaScript and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) in software development environments.
- Experience with source control practices, code review participation, and structured software delivery methods such as Agile.
- Exposure to Flutter development for Android and iOS is valued.
