About The Role
Boeing is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer - Developer (Mid Level or Senior) to join our Phantom Works Advanced Mission Planning team located in Berkeley, MO. This role involves supporting our Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization, focusing on developing autonomous systems and cutting-edge solutions. As part of this team, you will work on complex problems that require ingenuity, innovation, and collaborative effort. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to advanced research and development initiatives, including visual modeling, simulation, and prototyping of next-generation aerospace technologies.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or have at least 13 years of relevant work experience.
- Candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance post-hire.
- A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience is required, with at least 3 years of experience in C++ programming.
- Candidates should have a background in autonomy and robotics software techniques, real-time software development, and Agile software development processes.
- Preferred qualifications include an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance, experience with mission system architectures, electromagnetic warfare, radar systems, simulation development, and familiarity with software development tools such as JIRA, GIT, and Jenkins.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain non-embedded software throughout the entire lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and safety regulations.
- Analyze customer requirements and translate them into initial software design concepts.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Develop use cases and perform software architecture trade studies to meet evolving project requirements.
- Create interface definitions and perform unit and integration testing to validate software functionality.
- Participate in peer reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
- Support system integration, flight testing, and troubleshooting efforts to ensure software performance in operational environments.
- Develop comprehensive documentation for software components, including design, testing, and deployment procedures.

Compensation
Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications, with a typical pay range for experienced candidates between $126,650 and $171,350, and for senior-level candidates between $160,650 and $217,350.
