Client: State of New York, Office of Mental Health. Duration: 24 months.
About the role
As a Software Developer – Expert, you will provide technical leadership throughout the full software development life cycle (SDLC) for OMH applications on the Salesforce platform. You will collaborate with other architects to foster a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment, mentor development teams, and ensure secure handling of Protected Health Information (PHI).
Responsibilities
- Guide and assist development teams during all phases of the SDLC.
- Collaborate with Technical Architects to create and maintain a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) for OMH applications.
- Develop applications on the Salesforce platform.
- Prepare scripts to create, modify, and manage Oracle database objects (tables, indexes, constraints, triggers, views, stored procedures, packages) and perform data migrations.
- Manipulate data, including Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Mentor and assist other programmers (state and consultant) in debugging, troubleshooting, securing, and deploying applications, as well as configuring data access, communications, and system architecture.
- Use GitLab for source code version control, including branching and merging.
- Diagnose and debug production issues reported via ITSM; escalate critical calls and join bridge calls for diagnosis.
- Develop applications that access Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot rules, calculations, and data issues in application reports using Crystal Reports.
- Participate in multi-agency technical meetings and work sessions.
- Advise development teams on software design, architecture, and best practices for Git versioning and collaboration.
- Coordinate service requests with ITS Chief Operating Office personnel for application releases and changes.
Requirements
- 84 months of experience on projects with at least 3 years in a leadership role on the Salesforce platform.
- 60 months of experience designing and consuming custom REST and SOAP web services.
- 60 months of experience implementing secure connections using OAuth 2.0 flows, JWT, Named Credentials, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
- 36 months of experience with integration platforms like MuleSoft and Informatica.
- 60 months of experience with Salesforce Apex (Classes, Triggers, Controllers), Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura Components, Visualforce, SOQL, and SOSL.
- 60 months of experience with Salesforce Flow Builder (Record-Triggered, Screen, Autolaunched), Validation Rules, Custom Objects, and the Salesforce Security Model (OWDs, Sharing Rules, Profiles, Permission Sets).
- 60 months of experience with Git/GitHub, VS Code, Salesforce CLI, SFDX, CI/CD tools (Copado, Gearset, Jenkins), Scratch Orgs, and Sandboxes.
- 24 months of experience integrating AI, prompt engineering, and unified data profiles into custom development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer or other Salesforce certification.
