About the role
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer for a Content Platform team. This role serves as first-level support and development for incoming production software application issues related to merchandising applications. The solutions developed will have a direct impact on customers. This position offers an opportunity to expand coding skills and gain exposure to a wide variety of software applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop monitoring solutions for production software applications.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and implement fixes for internally developed code.
- Perform SQL queries to analyze and resolve issues.
- Improve systems that gather metrics on software features.
- Update, track, and resolve technical challenges.
- Work alongside development on corporate and divisional software projects.
- Update and enhance current software.
- Automate support processes and document systems.
Requirements
- Education: A Computer Science degree or an equivalent technical degree is required.
- Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience is required.
- Technical Skills: Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. Professionalism under pressure is essential.
- Required coding skills include Perl, C/C++, and/or Java.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Mason or Perl CGI.
- Proficiency with Oracle SQL.
- Knowledge of HTML.
- Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX operating systems.
