Primary Responsibilities
- Partner directly with external clients and internal stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and software requirements.
- Facilitate discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and workflow analysis to understand business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Translate business needs into clear user stories, functional requirements, and detailed acceptance criteria within Agile environments.
- Create process flows, wireframes, mockups, and supporting documentation that help development teams understand proposed solutions.
- Maintain requirement traceability throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Serve as the primary point of clarification for developers during implementation.
- Collaborate closely with QA teams to define test plans, user acceptance testing (UAT) scenarios, and feature validation.
- Support UAT execution, defect triage, and validation of completed work against business requirements.
- Lead software demonstrations with clients and stakeholders, gather feedback, and refine requirements as needed.
- Communicate requirement updates, project risks, scope changes, and timeline impacts across cross-functional teams.
- Analyze client feedback, support requests, and product usage trends to identify usability improvements and future enhancements.
- Continuously evaluate existing workflows and recommend improvements that enhance user experience and overall product quality.
- Occasionally travel (up to 10%) for client discovery sessions, workshops, or meetings.
Skills And Qualifications
- 5+ years of Business Analyst experience within software development environments.
- Proven experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in Agile/Scrum teams.
- Strong experience working directly with external clients and business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with Agile project management and ticketing tools such as Jira, YouTrack, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to understand business processes and translate them into functional software requirements.
- Comfortable collaborating with software engineers, QA teams, Product Owners, and business stakeholders.
- Experience creating process flows, user journeys, wireframes, or mockups using tools such as Lucidchart, Miro, Balsamiq, or similar.
- Familiarity with relational databases and the ability to understand data structures and business logic.
- Experience working within financial services, claims processing, regulatory software, or other enterprise software environments is a plus.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
