About the role
Serves as a Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), providing specialized professional and technical advisory services across all aspects of Software Asset Management, including the maintenance of information for software procurements, contracts, asset entitlements, assignments, and usage.
Responsibilities
- Performs analysis and evaluation of supported agency software requests and of agency software needs, including verification of license compliance.
- Participates in the analytical functions required to adapt, configure, or develop application configurations within various SAM components to develop automation of SAM functions.
- Provides guidance to lower-level professionals engaged in Client Service activities to assist them in determining appropriate Information Technology Software resources, and in recognizing errors and identifying possible solutions.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requirements
- Knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with coursework in computer science or a directly related field.
- One (1) year of professional experience in client services or a related Information Technology field.
