Softball Assistant Coach (Part Time), University Athletics

Essential Job Functions

• Coaches instruction, mentoring, and leadership for players
• Mentors and supervises academic progress of athletes
• Manages program areas assigned by the Head Coach
• Prepares recommendations to the Head Coach

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Works with and requires teamwork and cooperation with numerous individuals and groups
• Mentor players
• Implement practice plans and assist in player development and training
• Use technology within the program (Rapsodo, Synergy, Trackman, etc.)
• Recruit through email correspondence, on-campus, and off-campus activities
• Coordinate team travel, plan meals, and assist with scouting and video analysis
• Assist with outreach coordination, logging CARA hours, and recruiting information into Teamworks
• Lead pregame warm-ups and in-game scouting/coaching
• Aid in gear inventory and assist with planning team/program events
• Monitor chapel credits and assist in event planning

Competencies/Expected Outcomes

• Collaborates and shares in executing duties and responsibilities for a Division 1 program
• Uses established procedures and innovation to perform tasks and duties under general supervision

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience

• Strong organizational, oral, written, teaching, and computer skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Strong leadership and management skills

Licensure/Certification

• CPR Certification

Personal Interaction/Communications

• Requires normal courteous interaction and basic interpersonal skills and tact to communicate with others

• Supervise student workers, interns, or part-time staff
