SOESD - Speech Language Pathologist

About the role

The Southern Oregon Education Service District (SOESD) Speech-Language Program is hiring an in-person Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) who shares an enthusiasm for speech-language development in all learners. SOESD provides speech-language services within its programs and to 11 component school districts in Jackson and Josephine Counties, located in beautiful southern Oregon.

Responsibilities

• Affirmative assessment of individual educational speech-language needs of students and making recommendations
• Development and implementation of individual educational programs and materials
• Delivery of effective speech-language therapy to identified students
• Consultation with parents to integrate home and school goals
• Aid in schools' multidisciplinary, IEP, placement, intervention, and other educational decisions
• Offering consultations to teachers regarding speech-language interventions
• Establishing and maintaining positive, flexible, and cooperative relationships with ESD and local district staff
• Making independent decisions within established policies and procedures
• Preparation of accountability records regarding services provided
• Clear and appropriate communication
• Participation in professional growth activities
• Compliance with local district and ESD rules and policies
• Performing job-related tasks as designated by the supervisor

Requirements

• Successful completion of an approved speech pathology program
• OR teachers' license with speech impaired endorsement and acquisition of an Oregon Health Board of Examiners' speech pathology license, or
• OR Health Board of Examiners' speech pathology license

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

• Experience in providing speech-language therapy to school-age students
• Knowledge of assessment tools and professional development workshops
• Ability to work collaboratively with school district teams
• Strong communication and decision-making skills

Pay

$62,576.96 to $107,893.12 annually for 2026-2027 school year
