Speech/Language Pathologist

About the role
This role is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to both inpatients and outpatients who exhibit speech, language, hearing, or swallowing disorders. The Speech/Language Pathologist also offers patient and family counseling and makes appropriate referrals as needed to support comprehensive care and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Effectively evaluates the patient's performance in any communicative disorders.
- Develops appropriate therapeutic plan based on patient assessment and physician's orders.
- Observes patient/resident progress and updates plan as indicated.
- Provides therapy for all types of speech, language, hearing, and swallowing disorders.
- Coordinates care plan with other healthcare providers.
- Provides education to the patient/family regarding the disease processes and planned treatment/intervention.
- Provides instruction in the areas of health promotion, activity, and medication as appropriate.
- Evaluates the patient's progress, goal attainment, and need for further services following discharge.
- Documents results of diagnostic evaluations, care plan, and resident progress in medical record.
- Maintains productivity within guidelines set by department.
Requirements
- Master's degree in speech pathology required.
- Minimum one year of experience in rehabilitation with adult speech/language-impaired populations preferred.
- NJ Speech Pathology license required.
- CCC-SLP required.
- Strong customer service skills.

Pay
Compensation range: $78,000 - $132,600 annually. The compensation range reflects base salary and does not include extra shift rates or incentives tied to quality, productivity, etc., as applicable.
