About the role

Northbridge University is seeking a Sociology Adjunct Instructor at the Master’s level for online classes. Classes typically run from Monday to Thursday and can be scheduled in the morning or evening.

Responsibilities

  • Teach online sociology courses to adult learners.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, interactive lessons using a variety of teaching methods.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide feedback through regular assessments.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism and ethics in all interactions with students and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Sociology, or a graduate degree with 18 semester credits in Sociology.
  • Two years or more of relevant work experience in the sociology field.
  • One year of experience teaching Sociology at the college level.
  • Excellent written communication skills to convey information in a clear and encouraging manner.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies quickly for both onboarding and ongoing use.
  • Private office space required for confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must reside in one of the following states: AK, AZ, FL, GA, IN, NV, NH, NC, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, WA, and PR.
  • Experience working in the sociology field for two years or more.
  • One year of teaching experience in Sociology.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using online learning management systems.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
