About the role

The Socioecology Research and Engagement Fellow will conduct mixed-methods research on place-based environmental education and socioecological systems by supporting the implementation and evaluation of educational and community science programs. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, assisting in the analysis of evaluation instruments, and preparing reports, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and presentations that communicate research findings to scientific and practitioner audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct marine science and coastal ecology for students grade PK-12, discussion, lab, field and outreach programs as well as summer camps and youth workshops to include content mastery, teaching preparation, program development, and evaluation
  • Support and assist in leading the GeoStewards Institute, an immersive summer research experience that equips high school student participants with GIS and spatial analysis skills to investigate local environmental issues.
  • Affiliate with coastal research, community science monitoring projects and volunteer programs, and other duties as necessary
  • Office/Clerical assistance
