Social Worker Master of Social Work

About the role

Provides assessment and intervention to assist clients and families to improve social and economic difficulties interfering with health and wellness through the use of casework processes, principles, strategies, and community resources.

Responsibilities

• Determines the nature of the client's situation by interviewing the client; assessing medical, psychological, emotional, and social information; making on-site visits.
• Establishes a course of action by exploring options and setting goals with the client.
• Obtains assistance for the client by referring them to community resources; arranging for appointments; establishing rapport with other agencies.
• Fosters the client's action or adjustment by interpreting attitudes and patterns of behavior; explaining and pointing out new options.
• Performs individual and/or family therapy, as indicated.
• Maintains medical records and department case documentation, including barriers to goal attainment and client/family response to intervention.
• Maintains appropriate casework statistics.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited educational institution.
• State of Michigan licensure as a Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW).
• Valid driver’s license, proof of valid auto insurance coverage at all times, and maintenance of a driving record in accordance with McLaren’s corporate driving policy and eligibility guidelines.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as a Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN) (preferred).
• Prior experience (preferred).

Schedule

• Full-time, 80 hours per pay period.
• Daily work times: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
• On-call duties: Yes.
• Weekend work: Yes.
