About the role

The Master's Social Worker for Pediatric Partial/IOP reports to the Program Coordinator. This position provides individual, group and family psychotherapeutic treatment to patients and their families in an outpatient psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a wide variety of direct social worker services in an outpatient psychiatric setting for a complex caseload of patients including psychological assessment, active treatment, discharge planning, case management, and related documentation in collaboration with multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Identify and assess client patient cases and anticipate their needs related to illness, hospitalization, finances, education and home or community services.
  • Serve as a liaison between health care facilities, community resources and government agencies.
  • Provide individual and group therapy to children and adolescent patients in an outpatient community psychiatry treatment clinic located within an academic medical center.
  • Interview patient, family and any other providers to assess the patient's level of functioning, strengths and deficits, and emotional status.
  • Develop a comprehensive picture of the patient’s treatment needs.
  • Serve as a member of the treatment team in the diagnostic evaluation of patients and the identification of treatment objectives.
  • Provide evidenced-based treatment for patients at CDT. Provide group, Family-Based Treatment and individual treatment. Provide therapeutic support.
  • Develop treatment plans, monitor and document progress and facilitate discharge planning to meet compliance and billing requirements and successfully return the patient to community resources.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team of therapists, medical providers and families to ensure comprehensive treatment.
  • Participate in weekly clinical team meetings with multi-disciplinary team of medical providers and therapists.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
  • MSW licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners.
  • Certification in case management preferred.

Salary commensurate with experience.

Schedule

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
