Social Worker LSW - Co-Responder Social Service Unit

Role Overview: This position involves providing crisis intervention, assessments, stabilization, and case management within a community-based environment, collaborating closely with law enforcement and community providers. The goal is to promote safer interactions, connect individuals to mental health and support services, and facilitate community stability. Key Responsibilities: Conduct active listening and crisis interventions using motivational techniques, make safe clinical decisions, and resolve crises with least restrictive measures. Collaborate with emergency personnel, maintain accurate documentation, and manage follow-up care. Provide direct counseling, resource education, and uphold confidentiality and professional boundaries. Qualifications & Skills: Must hold an Illinois Licensed Social Worker (LSW) license, with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and preferred three years of related experience. Required skills include de-escalation, effective communication, cultural competence, documentation, and ability to work under time constraints. Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and ability to work in varied weather conditions are also necessary. Additional Requirements: Ability to work with diverse age groups, maintain confidentiality, understand regulatory compliance, and participate in supervision and ongoing education.
