Social Worker (Licensed)

About the role

The Jewish Board’s Adult Residential Division supports Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing adults with serious and persistent mental illness. Staff provide clinical intervention, cultural competence, and support to help residents achieve independence and live safely.

Responsibilities

• Carries a caseload of residents and provides necessary clinical intervention within the program's scope.
• Completes client assessments, including intake, overall, and risk assessments.
• Evaluates and supports residents in meeting individual goals through person-centered service planning.
• Interprets and explains agency policies to residents.
• Develops and implements safety plans, provides individual and family counseling, and makes referrals for additional services.
• Advocates for residents and collaborates with other service providers.
• Makes group presentations under supervision.
• Participates in audit preparation and special/holiday event planning.
• Documents resident interactions and progress, including incident reports.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, LMSW, or LCSW certification preferred.
• Fluency in American Sign Language required.
• Minimum of 1-year experience in Human Services preferred.
• Willingness to work with individuals experiencing mental illness and substance use.
• Patience and understanding for the recovery process.
• Computer skills, including familiarity with Windows environments and ability to learn new systems and application software.
• Visual and manual dexterity for reading documents and using electronic health records.
