Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, social science, early childhood development technology, education, or related fields OR agreement to complete bachelor's degree within five years of hire.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws, rules, and regulations governing eligibility, agency computer systems, office management, social sciences, counseling, and case plans.
- Skills in typing, word processing, interviewing, and reasoning ability (numerical, verbal, clerical, interpersonal, and physical).
Duties
- Investigates claims of abuse and neglect of children.
- Maintains a caseload of children/families requiring protective services.
- Participates in legal actions including testifying in court as necessary.
- Meets procedural deadlines that govern the management of social services cases set by the State of Ohio and ensures the documentation is complete.
- Serves on internal/external committees and attends various agency meetings.
- Develops and administers public education programs pertaining to issues related to the case assignments.
- Performs on-call status when needed.
- Ensures children are cared for in a safe environment.
- Attends to the possibility of harm coming to children, who are unable to protect themselves.
- Regularly interacts with clients, which may involve dealing with angry or hostile individuals.
Hours
Monday – Friday, 8a – 5p (Hours may vary due to the needs of the agency outside of normal working hours)
