Social Services Assistant

About the role

The Social Services Assistant provides medically related social services to attain or maintain the highest physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of our residents under the supervision of the Social Services Director.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply social work principles, psychosocial assessments and interventions.
• Engage empathetically with residents and families, communicating clearly and effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Resolve conflicts and mediate situations involving residents, families, and staff.
• Create a comforting and engaging environment for our residents.
• Collaborate with and promote teamwork among departments, professionals, consultants, and organizations including government regulatory agencies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (Social Services Designee Certificate preferred); associate or bachelor’s degree in social work or human services field preferred.
• Strong passion for geriatric advocacy and commitment to senior care excellence.
• Previous social services experience preferred.
• CNA certification preferred.
