About the role
The Social Services Assistant provides medically related social services to attain or maintain the highest physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of our residents under the supervision of the Social Services Director.
Responsibilities
- Understand and apply social work principles, psychosocial assessments and interventions.
- Engage empathetically with residents and families, communicating clearly and effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Resolve conflicts and mediate situations involving residents, families, and staff.
- Create a comforting and engaging environment for our residents.
- Collaborate with and promote teamwork among departments, professionals, consultants, and organizations including government regulatory agencies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (Social Services Designee Certificate preferred); associate or bachelor’s degree in social work or human services field preferred.
- Strong passion for geriatric advocacy and commitment to senior care excellence.
- Previous social services experience preferred.
- CNA certification preferred.
