About the Role
This position is a second-level supervisory role accountable for overseeing first-line supervisors of social service activities within a facility or program in Hancock County. The role involves employee supervision, including hire recommendations, training, work planning, assignments, performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. The supervisor must also possess the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work they oversee.
Responsibilities
- Oversee first-line supervisors of social service activities.
- Participate in developing procedures and administrative policies.
- Administer program budget.
- Provide hire recommendations, training, and work planning for staff.
- Conduct performance assessments, coaching, and progressive discipline.
- Perform and review the work overseen by the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in social work, social services, psychology, educational psychology, sociology, nursing, criminal justice, counseling, marriage and family therapy, family studies, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance (verified by the hiring agency).
The appointing authority may require a Master’s Degree and/or a social worker’s license.
