The Antioch Unified School District (AUSD) is seeking a Single Subject Teaching Credential holder in Social Science.
About the role
This position is responsible for teaching students in a single subject area, specifically Social Science, within the Antioch Unified School District. The successful candidate will be expected to develop lesson plans, provide instruction, assess student progress, and maintain classroom discipline.
Responsibilities
- Teach Social Science to students in grades K-12
- Develop and implement lesson plans based on district curriculum standards
- Assess student learning through various methods including quizzes, tests, and projects
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to enhance instructional practices
- Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching skills
Requirements
- A valid Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Science
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- At least three years of teaching experience at the secondary level
- Passing scores on the California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET) in Social Science
