The Antioch Unified School District (AUSD) is a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K-12. It includes thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools, and one K-8 school. The district also offers a home schooling program, adult education courses, and other unique programs to meet the needs of all students. With approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees, AUSD is centrally located in the East Bay and provides access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites, and the Pacific Ocean. Known as the "Gateway to the Delta," Antioch is one of California's oldest cities, with a diverse community of about 100,000 residents.

About the Role

This position is within the Social Science department at Park Middle School. The successful candidate will teach Social Science to students in grades 6-8.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess student learning through various methods including formative and summative assessments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units and activities.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and guardians.

Qualifications

  • A Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Science.
  • An English Learner Authorization.
  • Three letters of recommendation from educators or professionals dated within the last year.
  • A current resume.

  • Internal candidates must submit their transfer request by June 16, 2026.
