Scope of Position
Supports the Social Ministries Director by providing divisional leadership for Pathway of Hope (POH), Service Unit Extensions, Anti-Human Trafficking (AHT) initiatives, and disaster social services as needed throughout the Southern New England Division.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for the mission of The Salvation Army and uphold the organization’s values.
- Aid in coordinating monthly case manager and quarterly Service Unit meetings.
- Monitor budgets, outcomes, and data integrity.
- Oversee program evaluations, record reviews, and compliance with territorial certification standards.
- Provide supervision, consultation, and technical assistance to Case Managers.
- Auxiliary with Red Kettle and Angel Tree coordination for Service Units.
- Assist with staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and job description development.
- Collaborate to develop victim services and referral pathways.
- Conduct audits, program reviews, and compliance monitoring of programs.
- Cultivate partnerships with Service Units, state agencies, and community providers.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential recordkeeping, grant reporting, and data entry.
- Maintain a current roster of community resources.
- Maintain compliance with Salvation Army policies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of work.
- Participate in trainings, workshops, awareness events, and conferences.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
- Promote integration of volunteers into Service Units.
- Provide advisory supervision, including site visits and training.
- Provide oversight of Service Units and related social service initiatives.
- Support expansion of Anti-Human Trafficking efforts through training, outreach, and partnerships.
- Support fundraising, grant reporting, data collection, and donor communications.
- Train representatives in intake, assessment, service planning, and referral processes.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field is required; an MSW or related graduate degree is preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in social services and supervisory case/project management required.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, database experience highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is required.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel within the Division are required.
- Experience with the Pathway of Hope program, Service Units, anti-human trafficking, or disaster services preferred.
- Grant writing, fiscal monitoring, and contract compliance experience preferred.
- Experience serving vulnerable populations preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Understand, respect, and promote the interests of The Salvation Army.
