Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute platform-native content strategies for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads, Reddit, and emerging channels.
- Maintain content calendars and collaborate with Communications and Marketing Managers and broader campaign teams.
- Monitor performance data, analyze trends, and adapt content strategy based on insights.
- Create engaging short-form video content and appear on camera as needed.
- Manage online community engagement and respond to comments and messages.
- Identify and engage with influencers, creators, partner organizations, and supporters.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on social media experience for a brand or mission-driven organization.
- Knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads, Reddit, and emerging platforms, including audience demographics, content formats, and algorithm behaviors.
- Experience growing organic social channels and driving measurable engagement.
- Practical knowledge of paid amplification and audience targeting.
- Ability to create engaging short-form video content and appear on camera.
- Familiarity with Canva and other image and video editing skills.
- Creativity, adaptability, and an ability to understand what makes people stop scrolling, engage, share, and take action.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Comfort working with sensitive content related to animal cruelty, investigations, or legal campaigns.
- Collaborative, proactive, and dependable: able to work independently once given direction, and effectively across teams and departments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to follow approved messaging closely and understand when language requires review or approval.
Compensation and Benefits
$58,000 - $62,000 per year. Benefits package includes 100% employer-covered health, dental, vision insurance, paid child care leave, a generous vacation package, paid sick time, 1 paid volunteer day per year, 2 floating holidays, monthly work-from-home internet stipend, and 401(k) with partial employer match.
