Social Media Specialist
Job Summary
The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for creating and managing social media content for Massanutten Resort, inspiring guests and potential visitors to visit, return, and share their experiences.

Responsibilities
- Own the content calendar and posting cadence across multiple social media platforms.
- Create and edit photo and video content on property using native tools and Canva templates.
- Engage with the online community and build relationships with local businesses and partners.
- Schedule and host influencer and media visits, and leverage resulting content.
- Maintain accuracy across third-party profiles and monitor reviews.
- Track, analyze, and report on performance against established benchmarks.
- Provide backup support for website and app content edits as needed.
Requirements
- 2–4 years managing social media for a brand, agency, or established creator account.
- Fluency in Canva, including building and working from brand templates.
- Proficiency in Meta Business Suite and a third-party scheduling and management platform (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Later, or similar).
- Strong native editing skills in Instagram and TikTok, plus CapCut.
- Ability to capture quality photos and videos on a phone across a range of settings and conditions.
- Comfort reading platform and native analytics, and translating them into clear, accurate reporting.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage a content calendar, shoot schedule, and event coverage.
- Current, working knowledge of platform trends, formats, and best practices.
- Availability to work on the property, including evenings, weekends, and holidays around events and peak periods.
Desired
- On-camera comfort or willingness to appear in content.
- Experience working with influencers or sourcing and repurposing user-generated content.
- Experience maintaining third-party listing and review platforms (Google Business Profile, Yelp, TripAdvisor).
- Hospitality, tourism, or destination marketing background.
