Social Media Manager, New York
We’re looking for a creative, culturally connected Social Media & Community Manager based in New York to join our Global Social team. This is a hands-on role for someone who lives and breathes social media, thrives in fast-paced environments, and enjoys creating content as much as planning strategy.
You’ll play an important role in supporting Soho House’s global social channels, while leading a private Instagram account for members in New York. You'll own the end-to-end management of the New York channel—from content creation and copywriting to community management, reporting, and content planning—working closely with teams across New York and internationally. This channel is a hyper-local social channel designed to bring our Houses, community, and culture to life through real-time, insider content. You'll be responsible for shaping its voice, growing engagement, and creating content that members genuinely want to follow.
Reporting to the Global Head of Social, you’ll work closely with Membership, Operations, Events, and Marketing teams, while collaborating with the wider Global Social team to develop ideas, manage content calendars, and deliver best-in-class social content across Soho House.
Objectives
- Build awareness of the current Soho House NY offering, including events, programming, new menus, openings, collaborations, and member updates
- Create demand through exclusive access, sneak peeks, and ‘if you know, you know’ moments
- Drive footfall into Houses by encouraging members to engage more frequently with spaces, events, and experiences through a considered and creative content calendar
- Strengthen member connection, pride, and retention by celebrating the NY community
Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day management of the NY members-only Instagram account
- Capture and create social-first content across Houses, events, screenings, launches, and cultural moments
- Contribute creative ideas for global campaigns, content series, and always-on social storytelling
- Produce engaging Reels, Stories, and feed content
- Write copy that feels conversational, culturally relevant, and distinctly local across social channels
- Build strong relationships with Membership, Events, and Operations teams to source content, identify social opportunities, and stay ahead of programming
- Manage community engagement, including DMs and comments
Requirements
- A proactive social media manager and content creator with excellent creative instincts
- Strong understanding of Instagram, content creation, and community building
- Confident capturing and editing content on mobile
- Excellent copywriting skills with a natural, engaging tone of voice
- Comfortable managing online communities and interpreting social performance data
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and energetic—able to balance strategy with execution
