About the Role

The company is seeking an experienced Social & Emerging Media Manager to lead the development and execution of digital media content and social media campaigns that strengthen institutional brand awareness and audience engagement. Reporting to the Director of Digital Content & Strategy, this role will oversee content creation, campaign management, social media strategy, and digital storytelling across institutional social media platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies aligned with organizational goals and brand standards.
  • Create, edit, publish, and manage engaging digital content across multiple social media platforms.
  • Plan and implement integrated digital marketing campaigns targeting prospective students, alumni, faculty, donors, and community stakeholders.
  • Produce compelling written, visual, and multimedia content that enhances brand visibility and audience engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop communications supporting institutional initiatives and events.
  • Monitor social media trends, emerging platforms, and digital communication best practices.
  • Analyze campaign performance and provide recommendations to improve engagement, reach, and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate content calendars, campaign schedules, and publishing timelines.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all digital communication channels.
  • Support photography, video production, graphic design, and multimedia storytelling initiatives.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and performance metrics for leadership.
  • Maintain confidentiality while supporting institutional communications and strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in social media management, digital communications, content marketing, or public relations.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, digital marketing strategies, and audience engagement techniques.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within higher education, nonprofit, or public sector organizations.
  • Knowledge of graphic design principles and multimedia production.
  • Experience with social media analytics and reporting platforms.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar creative tools.
  • Experience managing paid social media campaigns is a plus.
