About the role

As the Social Media Manager, you will be the everyday voice of the Melissa Doug brand. Reporting to the Senior Social Media Influencer Marketing Manager, you will manage our comprehensive organic social content calendar, drive deep community engagement, and pioneer innovative social commerce initiatives (like live shopping) while collaborating closely with paid media and external agency partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and execute the master organic social media content calendar across all Melissa Doug social channels, ensuring alignment with brand campaigns and product launches.
  • Spearhead live shopping initiatives and real-time content strategies to drive community participation and direct sales.
  • Act as the internal owner of Curalate social content and our overarching User-Generated Content (UGC) strategy.
  • Act as the primary internal liaison with our paid media agency to ensure organic and paid social content strategies are seamlessly integrated.
  • Identify, pitch, and execute impactful social media partnerships and co-marketing campaigns with complementary brands.
  • Conceptualize and manage end-to-end social media giveaways and sweepstakes to drive audience growth and data capture.
  • Execute proactive "Surprise Delight" initiatives to recognize and reward highly engaged community members.
  • Evaluate emerging platforms (e.g., Reddit) and monitor trends to provide actionable recommendations for brand expansion and testing.
  • Collaborate with external social agency partners to oversee community management, brand listening, and performance analytics reporting.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in social media management, community building, or digital marketing, preferably within the consumer goods, toy, or family lifestyle sectors.
  • Proven experience owning and executing a comprehensive social media calendar across major platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with live streaming/shopping platforms, UGC management tools (e.g., Curalate), and social media management software.
  • Demonstrated success in launching social collaborations, sweepstakes, and successful brand-to-brand partnerships.
  • Experience working alongside paid media agencies to align organic and paid strategies.
  • Deep understanding of platform-specific best practices, algorithms, and current digital trends.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in social media management or digital marketing.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and platforms.
  • Knowledge of consumer behavior and trends.

Benefits

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in Connecticut is $90,000 to $130,000 Per Annum. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc.
