Social Media Manager
About the role
The Social Media Manager at ECPI University is responsible for leading social media efforts across the institution and its affiliates. This role requires a strategic thinker, strong writer, content creator, and collaborator who can develop and execute engaging content that resonates with the ECPI University community.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of daily social content planning, creation, publishing, and management across ECPI University and affiliated channels
- Development of platform-specific content, coordination of shoots, and collaboration with various stakeholders including faculty, students, alumni, and departments
- Use of performance data to guide decision-making and management of community engagement through monitoring and responding to comments
- Supervision of the Digital Communications Specialist and collaboration with the broader marketing team on projects supporting ECPI's brand, mission, and enrollment goals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred
- 4+ years of hands-on social media management experience in a professional setting
- Strong writing and content creation skills, including photography, short-form video, basic editing, and social copywriting
- Experience coordinating content shoots, managing calendars, and working across teams, departments, or locations
- Experience building influencer, ambassador, student, alumni, or community partnerships
- Comfort with analytics tools and social media management platforms
- Experience with community management, including monitoring and responding to comments and reviews

- Sound judgment, especially when representing a brand publicly, responding to audience engagement, and knowing when to escalate sensitive issues
- A creative, detail-oriented, team-oriented mindset with strong organizational instincts and a willingness to support work beyond social media

Pay
The anticipated pay range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 annually. The final rate of pay will be determined based on relevant skills, qualifications, education, experience, and other job-related factors consistent with applicable law.
Schedule
The Social Media Manager position is located in Virginia Beach, VA and requires in-person attendance.
