This internship offers students or recent graduates hands-on experience in a working press box, collaborating with the Marketing Department to support in-game social media efforts and write game stories.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the team's social media efforts before, during, and after all games on Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Capture and post real-time game day content.
- Attend and cover select community events on social channels.
- Brainstorm new ideas and create engaging content tailored for each platform.
- Monitor social trends and contribute ideas to grow fan engagement and expand reach.
- Assist with fan engagement by responding to comments, messages, and mentions.
- Maintain a professional relationship with the team, fans, and front office staff, representing the brand positively at all times.
- Assist with other marketing and public relations tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Current enrollment or recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Broadcast Production, or a related field.
- Willing to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong knowledge of hockey.
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
- Organized and attentive to detail.
Skills

- Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience editing short-form video content (TikTok, Reels).
- Comfortable engaging with fans and filming authentic content for social media.
Schedule
- Hours vary, primarily on game days in Toledo, OH.
- Nights, weekends, and some holidays throughout the hockey season (October–April, with potential playoff runs).
Working Environment
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and bend for the duration of the shift.
