Social Media Director

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Social Media Director to join the team of a leader in the Education, Government & Non-Profit space. This role will drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process discipline, productivity gains, and operational consistency. You will partner with operational leaders and project stakeholders to standardize workflows, identify bottlenecks, and improve execution quality. The position offers the opportunity to create measurable efficiency gains and scalable operational improvements within a mission-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $100,000 – $110,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Develop multi-platform social media strategies aligned with institutional goals
• Identify ways to expand reach using new platforms and creator partnerships
• Ensure a synergy between paid and organic social efforts to enhance performance
• Monitor trends and updates to keep social strategies competitive
• Implement AI-driven tools to refine content production and engagement processes
• Lead and coach a team of geographically distributed Content Creators
• Foster a collaborative culture among team members for creativity and operational excellence

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in digital marketing and social media strategy with a leadership focus
• Proven ability to manage distributed teams in a dynamic environment
• In-depth understanding of social media algorithms and audience engagement tactics
• Experience using AI tools for efficiency in content and analytics processes
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in platforms like Google Analytics and Sprout Social
• Background in nonprofit or higher education sectors is preferred
