Position Summary

The Social Media & Digital Engagement Associate will create, curate, and publish compelling content across social media platforms, helping build a strong, consistent, and engaging digital presence for both the OU and NCSY. This role supports storytelling, audience growth, and digital engagement for teens, families, alumni, donors, educators, and community partners.

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation & Storytelling – Gather photos, videos, stories, testimonials, and other content from JSU and NCSY programs. Create engaging social media assets such as graphics, short‑form video, reels, stories, captions, and posts. Identify powerful stories that demonstrate impact, maintain an organized pipeline and calendar, and ensure content reflects the energy, diversity, scope, and impact of the movement.
  • Strategy Execution & Development – Execute the existing social media and digital engagement strategy with excellence. Translate strategic priorities into a day‑to‑day content calendar and posting rhythm. Analyze performance data and audience interaction to refine the strategy, and recommend new content ideas, platforms, campaigns, trends, and engagement opportunities.
  • Social Media Management – Manage regular posting across relevant JSU and NCSY channels. Monitor comments, direct messages, tags, mentions, and other interactions, responding promptly and appropriately. Identify opportunities to join relevant conversations, amplify important moments, and maintain a consistent organizational voice while tailoring content for each platform.
  • Audience & Community Building – Grow social media audiences and overall digital reach. Develop content tailored for teens, parents, alumni, donors, educators, community partners, and the broader Jewish community. Transform followers into a more deeply connected community and explore ways to translate digital engagement into real‑world connection with JSU, NCSY, and Jewish life.
  • Organizational Collaboration – Build relationships with staff to capture and share exciting programs, meaningful moments, and powerful stories. Proactively seek content, work with leadership and teams to ensure messaging aligns with mission, values, voice, and priorities, and support major campaigns, events, summer programs, and key moments throughout the Jewish calendar.
  • Analytics & Growth – Track key social media metrics (reach, engagement, follower growth, video performance, audience interaction). Identify high‑performing content and platforms, provide regular insights and recommendations, and foster a culture of learning, experimentation, and continual improvement.

Compensation
