Social Media Content Creator (Contract)

Obsidian Entertainment seeks a creative and skilled Contract Social Media Content Creator to work with our Communications team. The Social Media Content Creator will work closely with our Social Media Manager to capture compelling gameplay footage and transform it into engaging, platform-native content for our social channels. This position requires the ability to work onsite or in a hybrid capacity at the Obsidian Entertainment office in Irvine, CA. The contract duration is expected for six months, with potential for extension. Responsibilities Capture high-quality gameplay footage using development hardware and capture tools for social media, developer diaries, and other communications needsCreate and edit engaging content including short-form vertical videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms supporting multiple Obsidian brandsProvide dedicated gameplay capture and editing support during key campaigns, announcements, launches, and other high-priority communications momentsMaintain an organized library of evergreen and reactive-ready video content that can be quickly deployed around social conversations, trends, and community momentsEdit content in accordance with established brand guidelines, creative direction, and platform best practicesCollaborate with the Social Media Manager to identify opportunities to adapt gameplay, announcements, and other moments into compelling short-form contentProvide additional gameplay capture support for GIFs, screenshots, and other social and communications content as needed Requirements Demonstrated experience creating and editing short-form vertical video for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube ShortsStrong understanding of social media content formats, pacing, trends, and platform best practicesAbility to manage multiple content requests and deliver high-quality work within established timelinesStrong organization and communication skillsReceptive to creative direction and feedback from Communications and project teams Pluses Experience capturing gameplay using in-engine tools, development kits, or development buildsExperience working with CapCut, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Premiere ProExperience creating social content for games or entertainment brandsFamiliarity with creating GIFs, screenshots, and other social-first visual assets Obsidian Entertainment is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
