About the role

Provides a safe, supportive, and predictable environment in dormitory supervision of Job Corps trainees in their daily activities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct dormitory operations in accordance with Center operating policy.
  • Assist students in adjusting to Center life by providing supervision, behavior modification, and acting as a mentor.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections of assigned area and report/document all Facility or Safety related issues.
  • Provide daily supervision or assistance in monitoring students in personal hygiene, room/chore assignments, recreation activities, cafeteria monitoring, transportation and programmed activities.
  • Prepare reports, forms and annotate logs to ensure accurate documentation of daily observations of student’s progress, performance, behavior, emergency information, staff breaks, communication information, references to critical information contained in folders.
  • Organize, conduct and direct recreation/non-vocational activities.
  • Facilitate small group discussions in Life Skills, peer mediation, conflict resolution, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule

  • Saturday – Wednesday, 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM

Requirements

  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: At least one year of experience in education or a similar field, working with students.
  • Model the company Core Values.
  • Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescent students.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping techniques and management.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
  • Must obtain CPR & First Aid Certification.

Pay

  • $24.00 – $24.94 per hour
