About the Role

Sugarbush Resort is seeking Snowmaking Control Room Technicians to join our team for the upcoming Winter Season. Control Room Technicians are critical in laying the groundwork for an amazing ski season, working as part of a team that delivers high-quality snow and an exceptional guest experience.

This seasonal position runs from late October until early February (weather dependent) and may transition into other resort roles after snowmaking ends. Shifts are 12 hours per day, 4 days per week, with potential overtime. Night shifts (7pm–7am) offer a higher pay rate.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor equipment, including starting and stopping pumps and compressors, to maintain system efficiency.
• Control computer systems for remote and local equipment operation.
• Maintain communication with on-hill and maintenance staff regarding supply and demand.
• Relay proper gun settings to on-hill staff and manage automatic hydrants as requested.
• Serve as a communication link between snowmaking and other departments.
• Record hourly data on operating equipment and system parameters.
• Track Sugarbush and Valley total power wattage to prevent exceeding transmission limits.
• Monitor and maintain peripheral snowmaking equipment, including radios, tools, and diesel fuel tank levels.
• Update current weather conditions and patterns.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Mechanical orientation is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively over the telephone, 2-way radio, and in person.
• Comfortable performing heavy work, including exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally.
• Must be able to withstand loud noise from machinery.

Pay

$20/hour–$24/hour depending on experience. Night shifts (7pm–7am) offer a higher pay rate.
