SMT Programmer & Operator Lead - 3rd Shift

Full-time position on the 3rd shift.

About the role

Under direction, this position will program SMT machines for efficient and accurate placements. It covers a range of SMT-related engineering tasks, including quality control as the resident expert for solder-related items and the lead IPC certified trainer. Additionally, this role serves as a team leader for the SMT area, overseeing training and work assignments for team members.

Responsibilities

• Work with Engineering staff to assist in the design, specification, and selection of components for new products and support/update existing products.
• Program, set up, troubleshoot, and maintain SMT equipment with assistance as needed.
• Lead solder training sessions as the lead IPC certified instructor.
• Train and oversee employees assigned to the department.
• Shut down production if quality issues are detected.
• Maintain organization and layout of the SMT area in coordination with the Manufacturing Manager.
• Keep records of production runs for analysis and review.
• Maintain maintenance logs, parts lists, manuals, and spares for equipment.
• Assist with troubleshooting failures during product testing and coordinate rework.
• Ensure projects are maintained and proper materials are issued in coordination with the planning department.
• Perform cycle counts on materials as needed.
• Oversee jobs, work orders, and ensure timely progression through the department.
• Monitor material and component shortages and follow through on fulfilling requirements.
• Additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• 2-5 years’ experience in an SMT environment.
• Working computer knowledge.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and sit or stand for long periods.
• Good mechanical and electronic skills.

Pay

$34 to $37 per hour, plus incentive and shift differential.
