Assembly Operator Lead - 3rd Shift

In this position, you will ensure uninterrupted production flow in assigned processes, provide troubleshooting support, and coach employees to meet day-to-day department goals. You will be the first point of escalation for production issues and responsible for communicating with appropriate resources to resolve problems quickly and efficiently. Responsibilities

• Serve as primary backup to the Production Supervisor for all assigned departments.
• Provide documentation to support the Production Supervisor in managing performance concerns and recognizing exceptional performance.
• Complete various audits on production, safety, and quality processes.
• Act as the first point of contact in the escalation procedure, providing communication to the team.
• Coach, guide, develop, and train employees to meet production goals and improve skillsets.
• Lead and drive engagement in MDI, 5S, Waste Elimination, and Kaizen activities with knowledge of Lean methodologies.
• Foster a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem-solving, decision-making, and recognizing exceptional work.
• Lead production processes by assigning work, removing roadblocks, and collaborating with resources to meet daily production, safety, quality, and delivery goals.
• Coordinate timely and accurate movement of material and information into, within, and out of the assigned work area.
• Collaborate with leadership and department stakeholders to align teams on production status and resolve issues promptly.
• Report and assist in resolving product, process, machine, safety, and quality non-conformities.
• Troubleshoot machinery, remove production roadblocks, and adjust staffing/workflow in response to material, machine, or labor changes.
• Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot processes as the first point of contact in the escalation path to meet quality and production specifications.
• Lead established safety, quality, and performance standards.
• Assist in resolving data integrity issues on Manufacturing Orders and production databases, performing transactions to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
• Lead improvement efforts for safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards, reporting and driving resolution for adverse conditions or violations.
• Demonstrate flexibility by identifying and resolving production, process, or resource-related roadblocks across assembly processes.
• Provide and implement continuous improvement recommendations through team activities to meet customer needs.
• Assist the department supervisor with shift start-up, daily attendance, first-piece inspections, machine setup/troubleshooting, employee job assignments, and training.
• Create and populate Excel spreadsheets to report daily production and attendance.
• Track production schedules for Assembly, Automation, and Packing.
• Participate in GIMBA and daily production meetings.
• Assist material handlers as needed and operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT).
• Work in multiple areas of the business, including Assembly I, Assembly II, and Assembly III.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 8+ years of Manufacturing or Production work experience.
• Ability to bend, squat, reach above your head, climb stairs and ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced, multitasking environment and meet operational deadlines.
• Ability to work individually and with others to identify, escalate, troubleshoot, and resolve non-conforming machine, process, product, or environmental issues.
• Ability to coach, train, and develop others as a leader of an agile and flexible workforce.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with a positive attitude.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to identify discrepancies with parts, process, or paperwork.
• Effective computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
