About the role

The Maintenance Department at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center is seeking qualified individuals to fill various maintenance positions. These roles are essential for the upkeep and repair of hospital facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance Carpenter: Performs carpentry work in maintenance and construction of SMRMC Health buildings and equipment.
• Maintenance Plumber: Maintains, installs, and dismantles plumbing systems, fittings, and hydraulics.
• Maintenance Electrician: Analyzes and corrects electrical problems, repairs, and overhauls electrical equipment.
• Maintenance Air Conditioner / Refrigeration: Installs, dismantles, and repairs AC/Refrigeration units.
• Preventive Maintenance Mechanic II: Performs and schedules preventative maintenance of various equipment.
• Maintenance Painter: Performs painting and surface preparation for the hospital and outlying facilities.
• Maintenance Welder: Performs welding, brazing, and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment.
• Grounds Keeper: Maintains grounds, trees, shrubs, etc., in a manner that compliments the hospital.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Appropriate certifications and licenses (e.g., universal HVAC license).
• Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment.

• Physical ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
