Smelter Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering projects from concept through commissioning, including scope development, design, procurement, and execution
- Partner with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions
- Design and implement process improvements to enhance safety, reliability, and operational performance
- Develop and support programs for new and existing electrical systems, including upgrades to equipment and infrastructure
- Apply structured problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis, to resolve recurring issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor others to strengthen technical capability within the plant
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives, motors, and power distribution systems
- Experience managing or supporting electrical projects
- Approximately 2+ years of relevant engineering experience or strong internship/co-op experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with root cause problem solving methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading capital or improvement projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Pay
