About the Role
We are seeking a mid-to-senior level Creative Strategist, Performance Creative Strategist, or Social-First Creative Lead as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a freelance curriculum development project. You will lead the quality, accuracy, and fidelity review of a four-course Coursera specialization titled AI-Powered Creative Strategy, Design and Measurement, adapted from existing Meta webinars. This role involves reviewing, refining, correcting, and augmenting AI-drafted course content to ensure platform currency, realistic tool-usage guidelines, and learner engagement.

Contract Type: Freelance / Independent Contractor
Project Duration: Estimated execution across the development cycle (October 26, 2026 start)
Project Capacity: Up to 80 hours allocated across the full 4-course specialization
System Requirements: Strong internet connection, proficiency with virtual collaboration tools (Google Drive, Slack, Airtable), and availability for scheduled live alignment syncs.
Responsibilities
- Checkpoint 1: Program Outline Review
- Review source webinars and supporting documents to evaluate generated outlines for logical flow, structural completeness, and sequencing.
- Attend live alignment calls with Coursera and Learning Design teams to validate content at the structural level.
- Checkpoint 2: Full Course Atlas (Script) Review
- Conduct a deep-dive review of a Proof-of-Concept (POC) course to establish standards for tone, depth, accuracy, and structure.
- Review remaining course atlases (.doc format via Google Drive) to ensure they mirror POC standards and flag course-specific errors.
- Checkpoint 3: On-Platform Final Review
- Access the live Coursera staging environment to end-to-end test interactive components, dialogues, and logic triggers.
- Validate final uploads against source webinars for factual accuracy, brand alignment, and completeness.
- Continuous Quality Assurance & Content Creation
- Source-Fidelity Checking: Scrutinize all elements to ensure no hallucinated or drifted Meta product claims.
- Creative Setup Workflows: Verify setup steps for Ads Manager creative configurations, mobile-first layouts, and Meta AI features reflect the current live UI.
- Copywriting: Draft and refine XDP copy for product accuracy; review Donobu QA reports as required.
- Screencasting: Record high-quality technical screencasts (if needed) following provided audio/room setup guidelines.
Requirements
- Experience & Background
- Mid-to-senior level practitioner (5+ years) in creative strategy, ad design, performance creative, or digital campaign development.
- Hands-on experience developing, testing, or directing mobile-first and AI-assisted ad creative for Meta campaigns.
- Background in agencies, in-house creative teams, e-commerce, DTC, or performance creative studios where visual performance drives results.
- Meta Creative Mastery
- Direct, current knowledge of Meta ad creative best practices across Facebook and Instagram placements, mobile-first design frameworks, and AI-driven workflow features.
- Required Tool & Account Access
- Live active access to: Meta Ads Manager, Meta creative reporting dashboards, at least one generative AI creative tool (image generation, editing, or animation), and a portfolio/review environment.
- Instructional Awareness
- Ability to evaluate content for a mixed audience of entry-to-mid career marketing managers, analysts, and graphic designers, ensuring guidance is practical.
- Core Capabilities to Validate
- Strategic creative brief frameworks connecting objectives to audience insights, deliverables, and KPIs.
- Mobile-first design principles (visual hierarchy, attention capture, small-screen readability, format constraints).
- Realistic applications, constraints, and prompt-based workflows for generative AI images and motion-based assets.
- Structured creative testing approaches (comparing concepts, messaging variations, and media formats).
Skills
- Bonus: Meta Certified Creative Strategy Professional or Meta Certified Digital Marketing Associate credential.
- Hands-on access to native Meta AI creative tool environments.
- Familiarity with production-side design suites (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva) or creative performance tracking via analytics platforms like GA4.
- Prior experience with Meta Blueprint or Meta partner ecosystem.
- Familiarity with Google Drive (.doc) editing workflows and Airtable/Donobu QA feedback tracking.

$60.00/hour (US only)
