SMD Production Technician

About the role

Under the guidance of the Department Supervisor, evaluates materials, fabricates prototypes, or specials that cannot be produced on the main product lines. Performs daily verification checks on machine setups, acquires skills to become operational experts on the production lines, and conducts quality checks using golden samples provided by engineering. As an operational expert, steps in to run equipment as needed to assist production with outputs and/or prove operational capability. Assists and performs production functions which may fall outside the roles of maintenance or production personnel, and supports Engineering on specific process evaluations and studies.

Job Location: Vishay Dale Electronics, Columbus, NE — one of the world’s largest manufacturers of resistors and e-beam technology, employing around 600 people in the Columbus area.

Responsibilities

• Assist operator with machine setups and perform setup verification on various equipment on the production line.
• Produce complex, low-yielding products and complete process capability studies.
• Follow Engineering direction to perform and/or assist with equipment specifications and product drawings.
• Complete the manufacturing of products following appropriate company specifications or under engineering guidance.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in a Technical field or 4+ years of relatable experience.

Schedule

1st Shift: 5:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday – Thursday. Overtime is available as needed.
