Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in small engines.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, air filter replacements, and spark plug checks.
- Assemble and disassemble engines and other mechanical components.
- Test repaired engines and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
- Communicate with customers regarding repairs, maintenance needs, and costs.
- Stay updated on new technologies and repair techniques in small engine mechanics.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training in small engine repair is preferred.
- Experience working with small engines (1-3 years preferred).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment effectively.
- Experience with repairing mowers, weed eaters, backpack blowers, etc.
- Knowledge of safety practices related to small engine maintenance and repair.
- Good communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Valid driver's license may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina for working with tools and machinery.
- Capability to work in various weather conditions, especially if repairs are done outdoors.
