Small Bindery Operator | Leading Print Manufacturing Company

About the Role

We are actively hiring for the position of Small Bindery Operator for our plant in Van Nuys, CA. The shift is 3rd Shift, from 9:30 pm to 6:00 am, Sunday to Thursday. The pay range is $19 - $21. Compensation decisions are made in accordance with applicable state and federal laws and are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and education.

Responsibilities

• Access the IMS program to determine priority jobs and set workload for the day.
• Determine what size hole the job will require according to the gang sheet.
• Set up and operate small bindery equipment, including the drill hole machine, corner round machine, wire-o binding machine, shrink wrap machine, and padding press, making necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Inspect the hole drilled on the job to ensure accuracy and quality before packing in the designated box.
• Record production and operational data using the IMS system, such as entering completed jobs.
• Report any workplace hazards to management immediately.
• Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstations are in good working order and free of safety hazards.
• Be available for any required overtime based on business needs.
• Proactively complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Good problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
• At least 1 year of experience using continuous and pile-fed machines and packing experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management and team members.
• Ability to safely use hand/power tools.
• Ability to multitask with changing priorities.
• Ability to recognize safety issues and corrective actions.

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift up to 40 lbs (50% of the time).
• Able to stand for 8 hours.
• Walking and moving around the work area (50% of the time).
