About the Role

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a highly motivated SM-3 Software, Algorithms, and Simulations Integrated Product Team Lead (SAS IPTL) for the Standard Missile 3 (SM-3) portfolio within the Shipboard Missiles Sub-Strategic Business Unit (SSBU). The SAS IPT is a large, multi-disciplined organization working throughout the product lifecycle of all three SM-3 variants, involved in nearly every phase of the product lifecycle and program evolution. This position reports to the Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) and several SM-3 Program Managers.

This IPT lead will drive consistent execution across a broad portfolio of programs and projects, manage competing priorities, and align resources to meet program expectations. The role involves working across all Raytheon functional organizations to staff the IPT and ensure timely start-up and delivery of products in accordance with contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical, schedule, and cost performance to deliver compliant products, developing solutions that optimize program performance, supportability, and long-term sustainment.
  • Communicate status, issues, and resolutions to leadership on matters impacting program success.
  • Ensure cost and schedule adherence for on-time software delivery to meet mission, contractual obligations, and customer expectations.
  • Interact daily with cross-discipline teams to meet program goals and objectives while driving on-time and on-budget performance.
  • Engage frequently with the customer community, program office, functional and technical leaders.
  • Identify risks and opportunities early, developing mitigation and capture plans.
  • Partner with chief engineers and technical leads to provide cost-effective technical solutions.
  • Establish open communication with team members, ensuring cross-training, mentoring, and growth opportunities.
  • Attend regular customer meetings and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Support strategic efforts to identify and advocate for future growth of system operability.
  • Conduct regular program status reviews, tracked and reviewed by Engineering and Program Leadership.
  • Develop SAS IPT-relevant proposals and support all program proposal efforts, including negotiations and reviews for new scope or contract modifications to ensure business success and growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience (unless prohibited by local laws/regulations).
  • Experience managing project or program cost, schedule, and risk, or experience with Earned Value Management, Risk & Opportunity, IMS, or IMP tools.
  • Earned Value Management System Certification or ability to obtain it within 12 months of starting.
  • Experience presenting program and technical issues to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and/or System Integration.
  • Experience supporting production programs.
  • Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance required before the start date.

  • Experience with proposal or capture efforts.
  • Experience preparing customer and/or management-level briefings.
  • Experience with DoD or similar major programs throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Experience working with the MDA customer on development and transition-to-production programs.
  • Experience with agile/scrum and DevSecOps/Automation on development programs.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $157,200 – $298,800 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
