About the Role
Provides courteous and prompt customer service to Slot patrons including, but not limited to, paying jackpots, providing change and performing minor machine repairs. Promotes customer programs and events held at each property.
Responsibilities
- Creates an entertaining environment for all guests.
- Consistently demonstrates a positive and upbeat personality.
- Is proactive in anticipating customer needs by continually searching slot lights and customers in need.
- Becomes familiar with frequent patrons, remembers their names and little facts about them.
- Maintains basic knowledge of other games and services offered by the casino as well as special promotions.
- Maintains thorough working knowledge of the various slot machines and equipment, assisting with paper fills, printer errors, bill validators, minor machine repairs, etc.
- Determines machine malfunction and identifies appropriate action to be taken.
- Maintains basic knowledge of department policies and procedures including those pertaining to Federal and Regulatory laws and guidelines, including inter-departmental policies and procedures.
- Routinely strives to build and maintain rapport with customers by handling disputes and making every effort to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Handles and secures keys according to department guidelines.
- Partners with other departments to execute slot transactions (e.g. Cage, Security, Surveillance, and others).
- Completes verification paperwork for jackpot payouts promptly and accurately.
- Coordinates with Slot Supervisors to detect and prevent attempts to cheat or damage equipment and to identify floor irregularities to a Slot Manager.
- Enforces all applicable regulations, under the code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, as it pertains to this position. Includes observing and reporting suspicious activity, of either customers or employees, as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, by attending Title 31/Anti-Money Laundering training, provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management and outlined in the Title 31 Minimum Internal Controls.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; 1 year experience as a Slot Host, Key Person or Slot Attendant in a casino required for a full-time position; 1 year of experience is preferred for a part-time position.
- Basic PC skills required.
- Able to accurately and legibly fill out accounting forms for position.
- Must have knowledge of casino rules, procedures and regulations pertaining to Slot operations.
- Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team player.
- Maintain a professional composure in all situations (e.g. demanding or threatening customer and during periods of high business volume).
- Able to adjust pace based on customer demands and business volume while consistently meeting or exceeding department service standards.
- Presents a well-groomed appearance.
- Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and work overtime dictated by business needs.
- Able to work both properties (Casino Arizona/Talking Stick Resort) as business needs dictate.
Qualifications
- Strong money handling skills is required and will be tested.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
