Job Responsibilities
- Obtains Job Sheet/SMP from Plexus computer program.
- Reads Job Sheet/SMP to determine number and width of material cuts.
- Sets up blades and spacers per Job Sheet/SMP specifications.
- Sets up exit spacers to direct material to recoiler.
- Operates forklift to transport material.
- Cuts core to length according to specifications.
- Operates tilt cart to load coil material onto uncoiler.
- Processes material through machine to slit material.
- Uses caliper, micrometer and tape measure to measure material dimensions to ensure that slit material meets specifications.
- Bands, ties, tapes, and otherwise fastens finished material.
- Loads material on skids for transportation using power hoist.
- Completes Slitter Log with applicable information and records into Plexus computer program.
- Prints individual and master labels from Plexus computer program.
- Performs routine/general maintenance on machine.
- Notifies supervisor/team lead of safety or quality concerns.
- Cleans tools, equipment, machines, and work area.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/ team lead.
- Packages and labels material according to specifications
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Knowledge of basic computer and keyboard use.
- Ability to use measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Forklift license recommended.
- Ability to work any continuous or fixed shift schedule including any day of the calendar week as required for operation of the position and mandatory overtime as implemented by management.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
