Slitter Operator

Job Summary

Preferred Packaging is a division of C-P Flexible Packaging specializing in manufacturing multilayer flexible films, thermoformed containers, and tray sealing equipment. The Slitter Operator position is located in Norcross, GA within the Finishing/Slitting department and is non-exempt (hourly).

Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Operate slitter efficiently and productively against set goals.
• Loading and unloading of rolls on slitter.
• Interpret and understand written information, including orders, SOP's, Lam. and print roll tickets.
• Palletization (building pallets of finished goods per customer specifications).
• Bagging of finished rolls.
• Quality checks slit material:
• Lay flat/measurement of slit web
• Print quality/print defects
• Roll/web tension and integrity
• Enter accurate information into computer and on production forms.
• Print out and attach accurate labels to finished rolls.
• Keep machine and surrounding area safe and clean.
• Spot and determine visual defects.
• Cut out defects and splice together good material.
• Complete tasks in adequate time limits to meet press daily goals and schedule needs.

Physical Demands

• Able to lift up to 100 lbs with assistance of hoist and up to 70 lbs without (intermittently)
• Working 10-hour shifts 4x a week
• Bending and twisting
• Using step stools or ladders (occasional)
• Adjusting shift hours for vacation coverage or machine demands (intermittently)
