Responsibilities
- Conducts evaluations and provides treatment for students with speech, language, and related disorders.
- Reports and interprets findings of individual screenings and evaluations to parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.
- Develops educationally relevant recommendations, therapy, and treatment plans in accordance with IEP processes.
- Provides services and direct instruction to students with speech-language and related disabilities using various service delivery models.
- Maintains documentation of student progress data and service records in accordance with district, state, and federal policies.
- Trains and supervises specialized support personnel.
- Serves as a resource for school problem-solving teams.
- Collaborates with teachers and other school staff to meet student needs related to established communication goals and objectives.
- Participates in professional learning activities.
Requirements
- Florida Department of Health License in Speech Language Pathology or Florida Educator Certificate in Speech Language Impaired K-12.
- American Speech Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred.
- A Florida Department of Health Provisional License will be accepted for clinical fellows.
