About the role
The Special Commitment Center (SCC) within the Behavioral Health & Habilitation Administration (BHHA) is seeking a Primary Care Physician. Located on serene McNeil Island in Washington State, SCC offers a unique medical career with a focus on autonomy, purpose-driven care, and a balanced lifestyle.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary care physician for residents, providing scheduled and urgent medical care.
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations; order, interpret, and review laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Evaluate patients for physical, behavioral, psychological, and psychosocial health issues.
- Provide medical assessment and treatment in partnership with a dedicated team, focusing on holistic care.
- Coordinate and direct a multidisciplinary clinical approach, including making diagnostic and treatment recommendations and referring to specialty consultants as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records; prepare reports and contribute to reviews of patient progress and medical-surgical activities.
- Share daytime and after-hours on-call responsibilities.
- Provide emergency medical responses and participate in mortality reviews.
Requirements
- Valid license to practice medicine and surgery in the State of Washington or ability to obtain licensure by the start of employment.
- Completion of the residency program.
- Experience in the practice of medicine, preferably working with the behavioral health population.
- Eligible for certification from a program accredited by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
Qualifications
- Competitive salary starting at $302,352.00.

Pay
